Values of Life

We talk about what we regard as our values, but I have a list that I am sure you need for your mental toolkit. These values were discovered by me while I was contemplating the creation story of the world. I am not claiming the story is true, but I am saying that it has good metaphorical meaning.

The story opens with the creation of light on the first day. The second day the waters divide above and below, and on the third day dry land begins to appear with plants created to grow everywhere. These events reminded me of three very important values that are similar.

The first is "Vision." Vision is like the light of the first day. It helps one to see the goals that are not yet achieved. This value is always the necessary first step in the attainment of anything. This is not just a view of what you want in the future, but needs to be a clear view of what you could do with this attainment if you had it. Your desire for this has to be deep and only becomes vision when it lights up your life enough to be obvious.

The second value is "Understanding." The second day, light shined on the waters long enough to begin to make the surface rise into the sky. Before a person can achieve their vision, they need to build an understanding that divides facts not unlike the dividing of the waters at creation.

The third value is "Resolve." I really like this one. Since waters are being separated from the earth, dry land begins to appear on the third day. Plant life was then created to cover the earth. The part I like about this is that plants have one outlook on life, either grow, or die! That is resolve. I am going to accomplish this or die trying. This is just the exact attitude that one needs to power oneself through to accomplishment.

I will cover the other four values when I blog again.

How is This Production?

I have been thinking about how this actually does any good. Let us say that I buy 10,000 euros and wait for the market to go up. I eventually sell them back into the market at a higher price and collect my profit. The basic question here is, how is this productive for anybody except me?

After some consideration, it became clear to me. You should pay close attention to this, for it reveals a remarkable truth about all markets and why we need traders besides the idea of increasing "liquidity."

Since the market price in this instance is going up for euros, the demand for them is rising. If demand is going to be even higher in the future, then more euros are going to be needed in the future. The job of a trader is to buy those euros at a cheaper price, hang on to them for a period of time, and then make them available at the higher demand. In other words, bring forward in time a number of euros to help meet demand in the future.

It turns out the trading is very productive, and a person who trades successfully should make money at it. The pay can be very good, but the difficulty in predicting where the market is going also makes that pay well earned! Being able to operate in the markets is a lot like riding a bike. It takes skill developed over time till a trader can tell what to do almost by feel. He or she gets to a point where the trades can just be seen.

Everything comes in twos

Looking throughout nature, I see that everything comes in pairs. Electrons come with protons; cytoplasm comes with a nucleus; Families have both father and mother; Accounting has both assets and the rights to use them; Economics has both producers and consumers; The brain has left and right hemispheres. All of these work together, but they do it in a special way. They work together as compliments. They work together as if they were the personification of two principles.

Those two principles are Formation and Support. You can see them in operation in very simple ways. When you stir mashed potatoes in a cooking pot, your right hand performs the operation of Formation; Your left hand performs the operation of Support. The economy works on these principles as well as everything in nature. The two items I wish to discuss here are cold calculation and emotion.

Cold calculation and emotion also work together in order to produce wealth. Wealth is not and can not be produced without both of these working together. What is wonderful is that this valuable piece of information can be learned in the markets.

All of ones trades have to be placed using cold calculation, but there is no guarantee that money will be made in that particular trade. Strong emotion has to be present in the market in order to turn the trade into actual production that makes money. If there is strong emotion but the cold calculation is missing, the trade will also lose money more times than not. It does happen that when one gambles in the markets, some money is made. The markets, sooner or later, clean out the gambler because they have two directions in which to go. If the gambler does not know which way the market will take off, the bank is soon cleared out. Without cold calculation, the odds are clearly against the gambler.

Cold calculation will pick several losing trades before it finds one with strong emotion in it. You have to trade all of them in order to be in the right trade when it takes off. This is why all of the educators try to make the idea of trading without emotion stand out as the highest principle in trading. It certainly is extremely important in cold calculation. It is what the term "cold" refers to. The emotion is not supposed to come from you, it needs to come from the market!

Best way into the market

If a person is really interested in making money in the Forex markets, go to school for it at:

http://www.babypips.com

Read all of the warnings and also all of the positives. That way, you will be able to understand things when you enter into total chaos to make money. Can you make money in the markets? Yes, BUT you must understand what you are doing and then build up good quality skills before you get in. You do that by enrolling in a practice account that allows you to trade pretend money, live.

I can not guarantee anything for you, but if you take the course, read the blogs, and practice on a live practice account, you MAY make it. I can almost guarantee that you will fail if you do not. BabyPips is absolutely free, and there is no excuse for not taking their course. It is also free to look over the shoulders of the bloggers at the site and experience trading from their perspective.

Well, as fate would have it, I placed a buy trade on USD/CAD and lost. I figured that it would turn today sometime, and it did not make it. Instead, the market came down to trigger my stop and gave out. It had given out when I placed my trade this morning. Now that it found my stop, it is seeming to turn upward. Only time will tell. I have placed the trade again, only at this new position with new stops and new profit targets. This is a common happening in trading, whether it is trading stocks, commodities, or forex.

Tomorrow, my wife and I will be going to our favorite restaurant again for our morning breakfast. I really like spending time with her. We both take our computers and sit by a window and work on our college work. She is working on a masters in education for E.S.L. students (english as a second language), and I am working on a degree in accounting.

I want to say right here that trading of any kind can really be dangerous! People really need to study on how to do it and get some practice before they try any kind of trading. I cannot stress this too much. People need to not only know what they are doing, but they need lots of practice.

I had to say this because I have heard of people loosing all their money and their house trying to get rich trading. People need to get some good books on investing, such as the "...for Dummies" books. They can be found at most book stores locally, or ordered over the Internet.

Protect yourself with knowledge! Make small amounts of money at a time with skill! Go slow, and remember, this is not for everyone! If it does not work for you, leave it alone.
Well, I lost about $3.50 in the market tonight. That is no big deal. I have made a lot more in profits last week. I am brand new at this and have tried to be methodical. It is hard to do, but not impossible. You would be surprised at how small in investment one can use to get into this kind of work (yes, it is work!). I started with $80.00. Yes, that is right. A real small amount but in two weeks, that amount has now become $120.00. There are courses that one can take, but they are very expensive ($2000.00) and I found that I can study other methods for free. http://www.fx360.com allows you to look over the shoulders of four, very smart fundamental and technical traders. They summarize all of their trades for you, and they ARE making money.

If one thinks that day trading is it, there is a free book and really good advice up at
http://www.rockwelltrading.com
This website has awesome offers for one to learn day trading, and they do not cost an arm and a leg to participate.
